Shannon se narodila 07.09.1976 v Houstonu v Texasu. Její matka je míšenka německého, francouzského, anglického a dokonce i indiánského původu. Otec je syrsko - libanonského původu. Když jí bylo deset let tak se s rodinou přestěhovala do Waco ve státě Texas. Zde se začala věnovat zpěvu a tanci.
Shannon byla stydlivé dítě a neměla ráda větší společnost ostatních lidí. Vše se však změnilo poté co se dostala na střední školu. Začala zpívat pro pěvecký sbor ve Waco City a později se stala roztleskávačkou. Později dokonce získala prestižní titul. Byla součástí tenisového týmu, se kterým se účastnila regionálních i celostátních zápasů.
Během studia na střední škole se pomalu začínala věnovat i herectví. Zahrála si ve videoklipu místní rokové skupiny. Producent videoklipu jí poté doporučil modelingovou agenturu v New Yorku, se kterou po škole roku 1996 podepsala smlouvu.
Její modelingová kariéra ihned bleskově odstartovala a Shannon začala fotit po celém světě.
Ve své úspěšné modelingové kariéře pokračovala i V Los Angeles a k tomu začala i hrát. Natočila reklamu pro Taco Bell. Poté velmi brzy získala herecké role. Asi nejvýznamnější byla ve filmu PRCI PRCI PRCIČKY 1,2 kde si zahrála Češku Naďu studující na americké univerzitě. Zahrála si i v hororové komedii SCARY MOVIE. Diváci jí také mohli vidět v jedné z rolí v hororu 13 DUCHŮ. Hlavní roli získala v komedii SUPERSVŮDNÍCI.
